YOUR SHORTCUT TO THE NEXT HELLO.
Quick install.
One little command.
Copy this command, open a terminal on your Linux desktop and paste it there.
curl -fsS https://animail.app/install-linux.sh | shThe installer verifies the signed Linux release details and package checksum before asking for your administrator password to install with apt. Internet access is required.
Use your normal desktop account on Debian 13, 64-bit Intel / AMD, with the desktop login keyring unlocked. If you are updating, first right-click the ANIMAIL tray icon and choose Exit ANIMAIL. The installer does not close or open the app for you.

Let’s get you settled.
- 01
Download the official package.
Use the Linux download above and save
animail-linux_0.12.69~linux.12_amd64.debin your Downloads folder. Our official file host ismessenger.asiadesignlab.com.Check the download’s SHA-256
In a terminal, run this command from your Downloads folder and compare its result with the checksum below.
sha256sum 'animail-linux_0.12.69~linux.12_amd64.deb'49e7382910f5ce699f7c0aca5160d12fb2f7c6720a3900521f7c0c869e1d3da6Optional: verify the signed Linux release metadata
Download the release manifest, its detached signature and the Linux release public key into the same folder. This Ed25519 signature covers the manifest, which records the .deb checksum.
openssl pkeyutl -verify -pubin -inkey ANIMAIL-Linux-Release-Key-v1.pem \ -rawin -in ANIMAIL-Linux-0.12.69-beta.12.json \ -sigfile ANIMAIL-Linux-0.12.69-beta.12.json.sigTo check the public key’s SHA-256 fingerprint:
openssl pkey -pubin -in ANIMAIL-Linux-Release-Key-v1.pem -outform DER | sha256sumf4227061162302d9eb92135ed378b85680cf2922758deadaac435145296593b6After the signature verifies, compare the downloaded .deb’s SHA-256 with the manifest and the checksum file. Linux release verification is separate from Windows publisher signing.

Install with your package manager.
Open a terminal and run these commands. Enter your Linux administrator password when requested, then review and accept the package manager’s installation prompt. It installs ANIMAIL and its required dependencies.
cd ~/Downloads sudo apt update sudo apt install ./animail-linux_0.12.69~linux.12_amd64.debIf you saved the file somewhere else, open that folder first. Keep the
./before the filename so apt installs the downloaded package. - 03
Open ANIMAIL and say hello.
Find ANIMAIL in your applications menu. Open it as your normal desktop user. Unlock your desktop login keyring if Linux asks, and stay connected for the first installation check.
ANIMAIL verifies your device’s original 30-day trial in the background. If a temporary verification notice appears, check your connection and choose Retry. Then connect your email account using its supported sign-in method.
Closing the main window keeps ANIMAIL running in the Linux system tray. Use the ANIMAIL tray icon to show the window again. To quit completely, right-click that icon and choose Exit ANIMAIL.
KEEP YOUR NEXT HELLO CURRENT.
Updating the beta.
Linux beta updates are installed manually. First right-click the ANIMAIL Linux tray icon and choose Exit ANIMAIL. Closing the window with X leaves it running in the background. Then run the quick-install command above again, or download the newer .deb from this page and install it with sudo apt install ./filename.deb, using the new file’s actual name.
Make a password-encrypted ANIMAIL backup before updating. Keep your saved profile and desktop keyring; installing an update does not start a new device trial.
UNTIL THE NEXT HELLO.
Uninstalling.
First right-click the ANIMAIL Linux tray icon and choose Exit ANIMAIL. Closing the window with X leaves it running in the background. Then remove the application with your package manager:
sudo apt remove animail-linuxRemoving the application does not automatically erase your personal mail or renew the trial. Export or back up anything you need before removing it.
A BETA, WITH CLEAR EXPECTATIONS.
Good to know.
- Desktop support: this release is tested on Debian 13, amd64, Xfce and X11. Other Linux desktops, distributions, ARM devices and Wayland are not yet validated.
- Corporate stationery orders: Custom Corporate Design Pack orders are currently delivered as Windows installers. That delivery cannot be installed with this Linux beta.
- Paid features: Live payments and protected paid artwork delivery have not yet been validated on Linux.
- Protected local mail: keep your desktop login keyring unlocked while opening ANIMAIL. Automatic desktop login can leave the keyring locked; unlock your existing keyring when prompted. A password-encrypted ANIMAIL backup is the supported way to move saved data to another computer.
- Your email provider: sign-in, access and account policies still depend on your provider. See our email compatibility information.
