Start with the preview mailbox.
It has synthetic mail and local-only demo delivery, so you can try stationery, notifiers and the composer without connecting a real account. The website playground does not send email.
Connect your existing address.
Open Settings & accounts → Manage email accounts → Add email account. Choose your provider, enter your display name and address, then use an app-specific password where required. Both incoming and outgoing connections must pass before the account is saved. Never send a password to us in chat, email or a support request.

Mail will not send.
Open Outbox and read the delivery status. A known temporary connection failure can retry automatically. A recipient rejection needs attention to the address. If delivery is uncertain, check your provider’s Sent folder before sending again; the server may already have accepted it.
Mail is not arriving.
Use Get mail and read any account-specific connection error. Check your provider’s secure hostnames, usernames, app-password permissions and IMAP availability. Downloaded mail remains readable while reconnecting. The Windows app must be running to watch for new mail.
Where are my files?
ANIMAIL uses the Windows user profile under %APPDATA%\animail. Normal uninstall retains this separate profile. The portable executable also uses the Windows profile. Back up important mail independently; no legacy import or mailbox recovery service is included.
About updates.
The release history lists the official installer and portable files with SHA-256 checksums. Close an older tray instance before launching a newly downloaded build. New update checks do not make old installed versions change automatically.
