Automatic remote pictures are on by default. Ordinary email images download without a Show images click on every message. Tools → Options → Mail lets you turn automatic loading off whenever you prefer.
A place on your own PC.
Downloaded remote pictures are cached locally for offline reading. Embedded MIME pictures, content-location images and supported background pictures display too. Images that have not downloaded yet still need a connection.
A reader with better manners.
Received-email cards and tables fit the available space more reliably. Improved spacing, text flow, hidden preheaders and unclipped action buttons make everyday mail easier to read. Native rendering supports a practical subset of HTML and CSS; complex browser designs may differ.
Clear choices about privacy and backups.
Loading a remote picture makes an ordinary request to its image host, which can receive connection metadata. Known hidden tracking pixels are skipped and active scripts are blocked. Remote-picture cache files stay on this PC and are not included in portable backups; pictures embedded in the email travel with the backed-up message.
A LITTLE LESS ORDINARY.
